The Winter Bash is On!!  Mark your calendars for Friday, Feb. 1st when we have our second annual Twin Groves Winter Bash. We'll have raffle prizes, an open gym, inflatables, food and drink, and best of all our favorite DJ (and Twin Groves alum) from last year - Ross Bessinger!! This event is not only fun but a fundraiser for a student selected local charity. Stay tuned for more details after break.

Raising money for the Twin Groves Middle School PTO is as easy as shopping with your girlfriends!

We are partnering with Hot Mama on Thursday, December 13^th to raise funds for the Twin Groves Parent Teacher Organization.  Mention Twin Groves and Hot Mama will donate 15% of the gross proceeds from your purchases to our organization. Store hours are from 10:00 am until 9:00pm.  The fundraiser lasts all day.

From 6-9 pm on the evening of December 13^th, take a break from holiday shopping and enjoy a girl’s night out. Hot Mama will supply the appetizers and holiday ‘spirits.’ Pamper yourself. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We really appreciate everyone who shopped the Book Fair and Bake Sale during conferences and supported our school.  Special thanks to Elisa Nusinow, Tracey Wright, and Janet Ventrella for all their hard work organizing the Book Fair, and to Tracey Wright for also coordinating the Bake Sale.  We also have to thank our Hospitality Committee, chaired by Michelle Mottlowitz, for treating the teachers to a delicious meal during conferences.  Twin Groves would not be the same without such great volunteers!

 

Next Wednesday is Dessert Day.  We will be serving big brownies from Original Bagel!

It was a busy week at Twin Groves! 

 

Thanks again to our Magazine Sales chairpersons, Lauren Gordon and Dianne Newmark, for arranging an all-school assembly with BMX bike rider Matt Wilhelm on Monday. Thanks also to all the students who sold magazines, which is what made the assembly possible.  The whole school enjoyed Matt’s message and were excited to see his stunts – including his jump over the teachers and Principal!

 

We hope everyone who ordered dessert day this month enjoyed their Baskin Robins on Wednesday!  Next week is Special Lunch from Pastabilities.

 

On Wednesday night, Twin Groves hosted the District 96 Flower Show! We bet some of you  are thinking 'aw snap' I missed it. We had a good turn out and raised additional funds for our Kids In Need fund. We hope you enjoy these pictures and come on out next year. It was very entertaining and fun.

We also have a new program to tell you about called Nickels for Nature!  Sunset Foods will donate a nickel for every reusable bag customers bring on their shopping trip. There's no limit to how often customers can participate -- so the more often they shop with their reusable bags,  the more money schools can raise.  Who benefits: Seven schools in the Kildeer Countryside School District 96.  In addition, Nickels for Nature helps the environment and encourages children to recycle. Magazine Sales Fundraiser

Thank you to all the magazine sellers and purchasers. While we are still tabulating final numbers, we made over $3,500 that will go directly to fund Twin Groves wish list items. 

 
Our volunteers helped everything run smoothly.  We appreciate the time everyone spent collating, counting and working the games and prizes.  We could not have done it without you: Wynne Baruch, Ellen Delay, Patty Mix, Eileen Rubin, Susan Benyukhis, Tracey Wright, Linda Kull and Jodi Pease.

One of the perks of doing magazine sales is that we have Matt Wilhelm coming to Twin Groves for an assembly for all students in November. From America's Got Talent, Matt will perform amazing BMX bike stunts while speaking about bullying, perseverance, bike safety, and character. Our students are very excited!!
