Magazine Sales Fundraiser

Thank you to all the magazine sellers and purchasers. While we are still tabulating final numbers, we made over $3,500 that will go directly to fund Twin Groves wish list items. 

 
Our volunteers helped everything run smoothly.  We appreciate the time everyone spent collating, counting and working the games and prizes.  We could not have done it without you: Wynne Baruch, Ellen Delay, Patty Mix, Eileen Rubin, Susan Benyukhis, Tracey Wright, Linda Kull and Jodi Pease.

One of the perks of doing magazine sales is that we have Matt Wilhelm coming to Twin Groves for an assembly for all students in November. From America's Got Talent, Matt will perform amazing BMX bike stunts while speaking about bullying, perseverance, bike safety, and character. Our students are very excited!!

Mark your Calendars - The Book Fair is coming to Twin Groves 

The Scholastic Book fair is happening at Twin over the November parent-teacher conferences. Your student can preview (and buy books) on Friday, November 16th.

Book Fair Hours:
Friday, Nov. 16 from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 19 from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and  

                             during conferences from 5-7 p.m.
Tuesday, November 20th the hours will be from 2-7 p.m. during conferences

Can't make it into the book fair? Need suggestions for the family on what to buy your middle schooler? You can also check out our book fair online. Here's the link for our book fair.  This link is active from Nov. 11 through Dec.1. Your order will be delivered to the school and come home with your student.

Bake Sale...
Mmmm... check out the tempting baked creations from our talented Twin Groves Community. We will be selling mouth watering baked creations during the parent teacher conference times. Stop in and browse the book fair and get a snack to enjoy while you are waiting for your conference.

Thanks to all the District 96 families who participated in the Wiener Take All fundraiser! The District 96 PTOs will share 10 percent of the profits from that day.  Look for other fund raisers like this to come. We'll keep you updated with the blog.

FIRST TIME EVER IN DISTRICT 96 An Evening of Floral Design - Wed., Nov. 7, 7 p.m., Twin Groves - What IS this?!!! Call a friend and plan to attend this fun Nov. 7 evening event. From your seat in the audience, see four talented area florists simultaneously creating floral arrangements of all types onstage at Twin Groves Middle School. Their creations will be raffled off as each arrangement is completed and described, then displayed on tables for you to examine up close during intermission/refreshment time. Your $20 admission ticket is your raffle entry to win one of 24 arrangements and 8 florists’ gift certificates. (You do not need to be present to win.)Participating florists include Barrington Flower Shop, Sylvia’s Flowers, Joseph’s Floral, Events, & Décor, and Prairie Basket Floral Design. A special thanks goes to our terrific Magazine Sales co-chairs: Dianne Newmark and Lauren Gordon.  We are pleased to announce that Matthew Wilhelm will be performing at an all school assembly on Monday, November 5^th.  Matthew is an MBX star athlete who was featured on “Americas Got Talent.”  Along with his show, he delivers an anti-bullying speech. Thanks to all who  promoted the Magazine sales so we could welcome Matthew to Twin Groves! The top magazine salespersons will have special seating during this inspirational event. Remember you can continue to order magazines all year round. Just use the Twin Groves number to get the fundraising profits to Twin. See the link below.

The District 96 Dash was a great success!  All the proceeds go to the D96 Kids In Need Fund. We'll let you know the amount raised when we get the final figures. Thank you to Nina Strezewski for representing Twin Groves on the Dash committee.

The FINAL day to turn in magazine orders is Oct.12. The pink sheet in your packet to home had an incorrect number on it.
